Migration Assurance

Change platform without losing the organic revenue you've built.

For ecommerce teams

Re-platforming, redesigning or restructuring URLs is one of the riskiest moments for an ecommerce site's organic performance. Missed redirects, changed templates, lost content and broken internal links can wipe out years of rankings in days, and the build team is usually focused on everything else. We work alongside your build team or agency from planning to post-launch. We benchmark what you have, map and test every redirect that matters, check templates on staging, run launch-day QA and monitor recovery afterwards.

Who it's for

  • Retailers moving platform, for example to or from Shopify, Magento or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Brands redesigning, restructuring categories, or consolidating domains or markets.
  • Teams whose build agency doesn't include specialist SEO migration support.

Scope depends on your migration

Whether the domain changes, whether URLs change, whether the platform changes, whether templates and content change, and any page pruning or changes to site structure. We agree the scope with you before work starts, and the timeline follows your launch date.

What you get

  • A pre-migration benchmark of rankings, traffic and revenue by page type.
  • A tested redirect map and SEO requirements for your build team.
  • Staging and launch-day QA, with issues logged and prioritised.
  • Post-launch monitoring, and a recovery review around 90 days after launch.

How it runs

We specify and test; your build team or agency implements. You approve at two points: the redirect map and the go/no-go decision before launch. We advise; you decide.

What we need from you

Search Console and analytics access, staging access, a contact on the build team or agency, the launch date, the platform plan, early sight of the new URL structure, and one named contact.

What's not included

  • Building or configuring the new platform, or writing redirects into it.
  • Content rewrites, new pages or growth work after the migration (those are sprints).
  • Responsibility for launch decisions taken against our go/no-go advice.

Proof

  • Rabbie's: we protected and improved Rabbie's search performance through a major platform migration, before delivering international growth across key markets.

The check-in and what happens next

Around 90 days after the changes go live, we review the results against the baseline and agree the next step from your data.

Continue into SEO Release Guard so future releases are reviewed before they ship, run a recovery sprint on any page types that haven't recovered, or pause once performance has recovered.
