Melt Accelerators
Collection Expansion Sprint
New collection pages for searches you already have the products for.
For ecommerce teams
Shoppers search for things like “green velvet sofa” or “waterproof kids' trousers”. You stock the products, but there's no page built for that search, so a competitor ranks instead. Usually the missing piece is product data: the attribute needed to group those products together isn't recorded consistently. In one sprint we find those gaps, enrich the product data needed to fill them, and launch new collection pages built to rank.
Who it's for
- Ecommerce retailers with roughly 1,000 or more SKUs and a range that varies by style, material, size or use.
- Ecommerce or marketing teams who can see the opportunity but don't have the data engineering capacity to act on it.
- Brands with an in-house SEO lead or agency that need specialist catalogue work alongside their existing programme.
What you get
- New collection pages, live or ready to publish, each targeting proven search demand.
- Enriched attribute data behind them, which you keep and can reuse in filters, site search and feeds.
- A baseline, and a results check-in around 90 days after launch.
How it runs
We map search demand against the products you stock, enrich the attributes needed, build the pages, and check them at launch for indexation, canonicals, internal links and rendering. You approve at two points: the opportunity shortlist and the page copy.
Scope: Agreed up front by the categories in scope, for one storefront and one market. Each further market is a separate extension. A sprint covers the categories in scope; the rest of your range can follow in another sprint or the Catalogue Growth Programme.
What we need from you
An export of your product data, Search Console and analytics access, and one named contact.
What's not included
- Optimising existing category pages (that's the Category Growth Sprint).
- Site-wide technical audits or general fixes such as 404s and redirects.
- Enriching the whole catalogue beyond the categories in scope.
- Changes to themes or templates, link building, or paid Shopping campaigns.
- Ongoing monitoring after the check-in.
Proof
- The Cotswold Company: more than 10,000 products enriched with new attribute data, supporting 900 optimised product listing pages and contributing to an 86% increase in SEO visibility.
- MADE.com: a machine-learning enrichment process that added 236,000 product attribute tags and made 420 new filter pages possible.
- Rat Betty: in a two-month project, Melt expanded the collection page structure to target non-brand searches that weren't covered, contributing to a 100% year-on-year increase in non-brand traffic.
The check-in and what happens next
Around 90 days after the changes go live, we review the results against the baseline and agree the next step from your data.
Continue into the Catalogue Growth Programme, run another sprint on the next categories, or pause while your team takes it forward.
