Category Growth Sprint

Make the category pages you already have earn more.

For ecommerce teams

Category pages are often among a shop's most valuable organic landing pages. Yet many target the wrong searches, carry thin or generic copy, and lag behind the pages ranking above them. With hundreds of categories, just knowing where to start is a project in itself. In four weeks we pick the pages with the most headroom, work out what the pages ranking above them do differently, and write and implement the changes. You get updated pages, not another report.

Who it's for

  • Retailers with established categories that rank on page one or two but not at the top.
  • Teams with SEO knowledge but no capacity to research and rewrite pages in bulk.
  • Brands preparing for a peak season that want their key categories in shape beforehand.

What you get

  • An opportunity assessment across your categories, with a prioritised shortlist.
  • Updated titles, headings, meta descriptions, copy and FAQs on the agreed pages, live or ready to publish.
  • A baseline, and a results check-in around 90 days later.

Internal linking improvements can be added as an optional extra.

How it runs

We assess your categories using Search Console data, rankings and search demand, analyse search intent and competitors for each shortlisted page, then write and implement the changes. You approve at two points: the page shortlist and the copy.

Scope: Agreed up front by the number of existing pages, for one storefront and one market.

What we need from you

Search Console and analytics access, CMS access if we implement, and one named contact.

What's not included

  • Creating new category pages (that's the Collection Expansion Sprint).
  • Changes to templates or faceted navigation, which are scoped separately.
  • Product page optimisation, link building and site-wide technical fixes.

Proof

  • Rat Betty: as part of a two-month project, Melt optimised collection pages around customer search intent alongside new collection opportunities, contributing to a 100% year-on-year increase in non-brand traffic.

The check-in and what happens next

Compares rankings, clicks and revenue for the updated pages against the baseline and against untouched pages.

Continue into the Catalogue Growth Programme, run another sprint on the next pages (or a Collection Expansion Sprint if pages are missing), or pause while your team maintains them.
